Daniel
Kenaston Family

Daniel and Christy Kenaston have been working
among the Konkomba people in north-eastern Ghana since December
1999.
They were in the
states for furlough in 2006. Little Anna Kathryn was born
during that time. They traveled 14,000 miles, visiting churches
to update them on the
work.
When they returned in October, they took along Daniel Smith,
Renae Wollman, and Hannah Kenaston, three six-month
youth workers, to aid in their busy schedule
of ministry activities.
Since returning,
Daniel has taken on an administrative assistance position
to fill in for Bro. Ross while he is in the states. This involves traveling
to all
of the mission stations, keeping in close touch with Ross to confer about
each station's progress, and overseeing the organization of the missions
retreat.
Their little family expanded greatly when the six GES workers joined them
in November for several weeks of training before actually being sent out
to their
various villages.
Here is an excerpt
from an update by Daniel concerning the work in Bunbon...
"Our long
term goals have been to equip the leaders in leading their
own people, and just as soon as a plurality of leadership
has been strongly
established, then we feel that our work is done and we will move on. So everything
we do and
every decision we make is in light of helping them to take over the
work God has started here. We feel very keenly that they
are the most qualified to
lead
their own people to Christ, and as soon as we can move on and hand
the work completely over to them, the better it will be
for the growth and maturity
of the Konkomba
church. The men are already pastoring, encouraging, admonishing, discipling,
and leading their people on their own and it thrills our hearts to
see this spiritual maturity continually happening. God's
Spirit is so evident in
their lives and
that gives us the assurance that He will continue guiding and directing
even after we are gone. What a thrill that is!
"Pray for
us as God lays us on your heart. We need wisdom beyond
our years!
We feel like mere children over here sometimes and it makes us lean
into God's power and grace all the more. So if you can uphold
us and fight for us
through
prayer then we can be your hands here on the field fighting the battles
on the front lines for us both. May God bless you richly." |
