Matthew and Janelle and their family have moved to Accra, Ghana to serve as the business coordinators for Charity African Missions. They live just outside of Accra in a home that serves as the base for the mission in the South.

Due to most of the missionaries being 12 – 18 hours away from the capital city, the responsibilities of Matthew and Janelle are essential to the ongoing work in the north. Their responsibilities are summarized as follows:

  • Maintaining visas, quotas and work permits for those who are serving in the north.
  • Managing the mission's Bible Correspondence Course.
  • Hosting and performing airport runs for the missionaries and personnel traveling in and out of the country.
  • Provide lodging and meals for the missionaries who come from time to time to the capital city for medical treatment, rest, shopping etc.
  • Purchase equipment, parts and supplies for the northern missionaries that can not be purchased in the north.
  • Pay the monthly income taxes for all the missionaries.
  • Banking

Due to traffic, tedious business practices in the country, lack of communication, and mechanical problems, doing the business coordination in no small task. Many times you will leave in the morning with 7 items on your task list and return in the evening with only 2 or 3 completed. Sometimes the person you went to see had traveled. Other times the paperwork is still not complete. Perhaps the electricity is off or the traffic was so bad you reached your destination too late. Many times the part or supply you were to purchase has been sold out and you are unable to find it.

Please pray that:

  • Matthew would have patience with those who he does business with and that he could show a Christ-like attitude.
  • Matthew and Janelle would have divine appointments to be able to witness to those they meet.
  • God would bless them and their children with good health and safety.
  • God would give Janelle the grace to host the many people that pass through their home.
  • God would bring many to Himself through their work with the Bible Correspondence Course.
  • God would keep them during times of loneliness.
