Greeting in Jesus’ worthy Name to all our readers!
My name is Timothy Miller and my wife is Gail (Wenger) Miller.
Our first-born daughter, Karen Janette, arrived on October
9th, 2007. We live in beautiful rural Ephrata, Pennsylvania,
beside the Conestoga River.
We will be taking the responsibility as editor for Charity
Christian Missions newsletter. I am looking forward to this
task. Someday, hopefully in the near future, we will be able
take a trip to Ghana to visit the missionaries and see first-hand
the exciting work that goes on so far away from home. Gail
has spent time in Ghana several years ago and I was blessed
to be able to travel to various countries before we were
married. We have a heart for missions and see the important
work of
putting together this newsletter as our calling in God’s
work, especially in Ghana. I am looking forward to getting
to know you, our readers, better and sharing Charity Christian
Missions with you via the mission newsletters. We are so
blessed to have the missionaries that we do! The articles
and stories
that have come from the field are really interesting!
One purpose of this newsletter is to share God’s work
in Ghana so that you can pray for the needs of the Ghanaians
and for the missionaries. The missionaries need to know that
people are praying for them. They try to live on the same level
as the nationals and face many difficult challenges. Please
pray for the missionaries and let them know that you are standing
with them in prayer. I look forward to assembling articles
and stories from the mission field that will inspire you to
become an active participant in God’s work of saving
lost souls. Thank you and may the Lord richly bless you!
About the title:
Christianity: A Religion or a Relationship?
I heard a preacher ask the question, “Do you know how
to be loved?” At first it took me a little by surprise.
How to be loved? I had not considered that being loved is an
art that is learned. However, this is so true! That reciprocating
love relationship with Jesus Christ is essential. Love is the
greatest gift of all (1 Cor. 13). Only after we feel secure
in God’s love for us, are we ready to share His love
with this lost and dying world.
I pray that this article, Christianity: A
Religion or a Relationship?, will help us see God’s heart of love
a little more clearly. This will enable us to give up our
own selfish desires and
equip us to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus
Christ to go and tell the world.
