Greetings
in Jesus’ Precious
Name,
We are praising God for the many wonderful things He did
in the hearts of the students last year, our first SENT Team
year. Once again we are expecting God to do great things
in the hearts and lives of the next twenty young people going
this October. We are praying that God would give clear vision
and direction of what it takes to be a minister of the Gospel,
whether at home or abroad. This school is not for the faint-in-heart,
and requires a great deal of challenging studying, reading,
and gives practical hands-on experiences. The students will
also experience a culture that does not very well accommodate
our easy Western lifestyle. We believe they will come away
with some valuable ministry skills/training that will be
most useful for their future, whether they return to the
foreign field or not. Our desire and burden is for young
people to be gripped with a passion for the lost. We have
striven to gear all of the students’ activities and
studies towards that end.
You should also keep in mind that the SENT
Team is full for term 2008 and that we are accepting
applications
on a “first
come-first chosen” basis for SENT 2009! If you are
a young person desiring to get some practical, every day,
hands-on,
overseas/home ministry training, we encourage you to apply
as soon as possible.
Thank you for your interest in what God is doing through
the SENT School. We greatly appreciate your prayers for God’s
direction and blessing on the behalf of the students, teachers,
and administrators.

| SENT 2007 Student Testimony
W
hat has revolutionized my life the most through the
SENT School is the realization that I have a personal
responsibility to share the gospel with the heathen.
The realization that God has saved me, not to sit
on my blessings, but to share with others, has
gripped me in a way that it never has before. There’s
something about being right in the middle of a
third world country that really opened my eyes
to these things. I saw my responsibility as a Christian
to the heathen in a way that I have never seen
it before.
I think studying about missions while being immersed
in the disciplines that the missionaries face all
the time, i.e., limited communication with home,
forcing one’s self to eat “unpalatable
food”, experiencing “lights out” at
the most inconvenient times, and often feeling like
you don’t quite have your “healthy” living
without the conveniences of modern plumbing, etc.
helps to keep us from getting a romantic view of
mission life. We have watched first hand and somewhat
experienced how the missionaries live sacrificial
lives and it does something to solidify all the teachings
we are hearing and the visions God is giving us in
our own hearts.
A side benefit of the SENT School is the interaction
we as a team have with each other. We come from many
different places; even different cultures! It has
been an excellent opportunity for us to learn to
appreciate other cultures and learn to work well
with different people. I think this is beneficial
in preparing to live and work closely with co-missionaries
in the future on the field.
